About

Hi, I’m Susan, the founder of Grief Squad. I’m a grief coach, author, and longtime supporter of children, youth, and families navigating loss. My own journey through grief, and the stories of those I’ve walked alongside, inspired me to create spaces where no one has to feel alone.

Grief Squad began with a comic book series for kids and teens, giving them heroes who face loss with courage and honesty. Over time, as I shared these stories on social media, I saw that adults especially those grieving a partner, child, parent, sibling, or pet were also searching for places to connect. That’s how the Grief Squad community was born.

Alongside this community, I created Solace, our 24/7 grief companion chatbot. Solace isn’t counseling or crisis support it’s a soft place to land at any hour, offering gentle prompts, grief literacy, breathing strategies, and someone to “talk” to when you need comfort.

I believe grief deserves compassion, honesty, and community. This space is here to help you find connection, speak your loved one’s name, and know that your grief matters.

You are not alone here. 💜
